Columbus Day Pizza Party
USO Rome Center hosted the most unusual event to celebrate Columbus Day, a pizza party. Different flavor’s pizzas where served to visiting guests during all day, 25 active duty and their families tasted the traditional and more modern combinations of pizza. Great appreciation was expressed for the Double-Cheese and mushrooms, that got the named of Columbus’Day Special.

American Embassy – Back on Track Bash
The USO Rome participated the annual Back on Track Bash to welcome the new comers and greet new and old community members. The USO staff had two outreach tables, one for the children, with a game that included a bit of exercise and some questions about American History and Geography, it included both aspects of the events: the end of summer open air activities and the return to school. More than 45 children of all ages were able to play and win a Disney DVD. The second table offered informative material about the USO and volunteer opportunities. Everyone at the US Embassy was grateful for the USO’s participation, and appreciated that the USO Rome is always ready to support.

Labor Day “Happy Hours”
USO Rome celebrated the Labor Day offering a to over 25 lucky patrons a refreshment that included a selection of pizza, sandwiches and non alcoholic drinks. During the 4 hours event, patrons were invited to participate at the USO Rome raffle, and win prizes as DVD ‘s ,picture frames and USO’s gadgets. While the rain outside was pouring down, inside the USO center a merry atmosphere was warming the patrons enjoying a special way to celebrate Labor Day in Rome.

Welcome Warriors Reception
USO Rome has hosted the traditional Welcome reception for the Warrior group visit. The group made of 35 soldiers and family members were greeted by the USO Staff and Volunteers. A large table full of finger food was organized in the center and alcohol free beverages were offered along with a selection of sweets and cup cakes. In the kids corner, a table was displayed with stuffed Mickey Mouse’s that were given as a gift to the little ones. They really appreciated it and they had a lot of fun.

USO staff partecipated in the annual Easter event at Villa Taverna. The American Embassy community of Rome came together for an all-American BBQ, egg hunt and family games. Over 300 people partecipated in the event and hundreds of children enjoyed the carnival games organized by the USO Rome staff and volunteers. The USO Rome gave away grat prizes and offered face painting for the delight of the little ones. The entire community was enthusiastic of the support provided by the USO!
