USO Rome was proud to win USO Top Small Center in Europe at the Tell USO Awards held in Nashville last week. Here the USO Rome team poses with the trophy that will be proudly on display in the Rome center.

Just wanted to pass along a note to say thanks for every thing.  Feel free to post this one you website:

The Rome USO is a hidden oasis within a bustling city.  The timely service Cristiano and Donna provided was first class all the way.  Couple this with homemade treats and snacks...  Going to the Rome USO is like a vacation within a vacation.

Thanks again for the support from the USO!

I just wanted to pass along what a wonderful job Cristiano Formicola did for us during our recent family vacation in Italy.  From start to finish, he advised me on everything that was available, and set us up for lodging, meals, and tons of tours.  He was always quick to respond to my endless questions, and he was very patient with all my changes.

My entire family had a fabulous vacation, and it was entirely due to the great effort and kind help from Cristiano.

Cheers, Mary Boucher (July 2012)

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Rome USO.  Cristiano especially was an amazing help to us in arranging tours and tour guides to help our party. We thoroughly appreciated all that he and the remainder of the staff did to make our trip to Rome more enjoyable and exciting.  They were all incredibly helpful and thoughtful and it couldn't have been more welcoming.  They were kind, generous and tolerant of our multiple questions.

The staff should be commended on how generous, kind and pleasant they were.  It was truly a pleasure to have come in contact with such delightful individuals.

BRAVO ZULU'S to the entire staff!

My wife and I are home now and we wanted to thank you and your colleague for playing such an important part in our wonderful vacation.  Your initial help in scheduling transportation for us to and from the airport, and our rooms at Holiday House and Il Passetto were a big help, but we also appreciated having the opportunity to meet you and learn a little more about Rome in the process. We enjoyed our Coliseum/Forum tour very much.  Our tour guide Stefano, was tremendous and truly made the ancient history of Rome come alive.  We also appreciated your tip to visit Vito's.  We ate there our very first night in Rome, and our last night, and we enjoyed Vito and our waiter as well as the great food.  We enjoyed both of our hotel rooms, but have to give preference to Il Passetto.  Maggie was a tremendous help to us and a very pleasant, giving person.  I would highly recommend this B&B to any of your USO clients. Thank you once again for all you do to support U.S. servicemen, both active duty and retired.  Again, you two were a very big part of making our trip so memorable". (March 2011)

Many, many thanks,

Hank & Debbi Blaney

"Donna, Thank you again to you and your staff and all the tour guides for making this trip to Rome so memorable. I know we will be back in the future and when we are we will be back and book with you all. The Vatican tour was simply amazing as well as the Pompeii and Naples tour… again thank you so much!" - Judith Jaime (Ferbuary 2011)

"Cristiano and Donna,
Thank you SO much for all your help! We had a wonderful time during our recent stay in
Rome. From the airport transportation and making our hotel reservations to organizing all of our trips, you were very helpful. You made our trip relaxing and fun. The USO office was warm and welcoming, and the computers were a great way to stay in contact with home and work while we were away. We will definitely recommend your office to anyone we know who is planning to travel to Rome.
Thanks SO much again!" MAJ Mathew and Megan Snyder (February 2011)

"Good evening Ms. Pullido,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my most sincere gratitude and thanks to your staff at the Rome USO for making my wonderful vacation in Rome a memorable one.  Cristiano and the staff were so very polite, knowledgeable and professional in assisting me in setting up my tours and lodging. Even with the constant phone calls and other inquiries they take they still do a very efficient job of taking care of each customer.  I loved the hotel they booked for me, the very comfortable, clean and secure Residenza Risorgimento who's manager, Dragos, made me feel right at home and has the patience of a saint with all my many, many email questions.  The tours I took, The Vatican/Basilica and the City of the Caesar's/Coliseum and Palantine Hill were marvelous!  Each of the tours guides were very knowledgeable, polite and humerous and made the tours extremely interesting and enlightening. I would ask that you would also pass on this praise to their parent company so that Marle, Leonardo and Thomas get the recognition they deserve. Again, I can't say enough good things about the Rome USO and the others that made my stay so special. If I ever again have the opportunity to visit Rome again I will most certainly utilize the USO!" Sincerely, Joel Krauss (February 2011)

You made our Roman Holiday the best. I have sung your praises in three countries already. You are becoming legendary.  Thank you so much for all you did for us. Without you, we would have wasted much monies and time trying to scramble after missing so many flights. I wish all departments had individuals like you in them when I go to them for help. You are the BEST! Thank you, thank you, thank you.  We hope to see you again...very soon." - Alexander Misiewicz (January 2011)

"Hello Donna/Cristiano,
My wife and I would like to thank both of you & the rest of the Rome USO staff for making our first visit to Rome an exciting and very enjoyable one!  We felt that the first-rate services we received is what played a significant part in us feeling this way.  From Mercello who patiently waited for us at the airport as our flight was delayed for almost 2 hours to his collegue Venezio (excuse misspelling) who was such a pleasant & professional gentleman who knew every shortcut in Rome to be able to get us back to the airport in one hour through Roma rushhour traffic.  Also, the Vatican Tour was absolutely amazing and our tour guides were superb, Gabriel was very pleasant and so knowledgable about the Vactican Museum & the Basicilla.  He gave such a fantastic and informative perspective on this and there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer.  Also, we were able to get into the Museum in less than 5 mintues thanks to the diplomatic skills of our female tour guid,e whose name I unfortunately can’t remember at this time.  I was so impressed with her considering there were people with other tours who were waiting in line much longer than us.  Lastly, I want to say how pleasant of a say we had at the B&B Il Passetto and even though the annimities normally offered in those larger hotels weren’t available the warm and inviting atmosphere certainly made up for it and our host/receptionist (Maggie) was absolutely terrific!  She went out of her way to make our stay at the B&B so very pleasant, she always delivery our breakfast on time and was so amazing in talking to her boss to allow us to say in the room until it was time for us to depart for the airport.  She always ensure that the room was very clean and always inviting whenever we returned from a long day of sightseeing, along with pointing out some great eating establishments that were reasonable.  Again, my wife and I can’t thank  you both for all your assistance and having said that give the Rome USO and A+ rating for a job very well done! I would like to ask whether your office would be able to assist us in making lodging arrangements at a Hotel that’s centrally located centrally in city of Rome?  I was wondering if you’d be able to get me a good deal at say the Rome Raddison Blu (SAS) or Hotel Morgana which is located close to some of the interesting sights?  My family and I plan on visiting Roma on/about 26 May and leave on/about 29 May 2011? Happy Holidays and warm regards to you both!" - Everton Bailey (December 2010)

"We arrived back in Atlanta tonight.  I just wanted to thank you and Pat for another great time in Rome.  You folks are a God Send.  Even more importantly, I was to thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you all do for our troops and their families. God Bless." - Bob Spidel (April 12, 2010)

"I would like to thank the USO Rome staff for all the assistance they provided during our stay in Rome. Our stay was originally planned for 2 days but was involuntarily extended because all flights out of Rome into England were cancelled due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland. By the time we made it back to London we had stayed in Italy an extra 5 days, which cost us a substantial amount of money. Donna Cafaro was very helpful from start to finish and made this extended stay bearable. Donna booked our lodging, transportation in Rome and Civitavecchia, and arranged for all the interesting tours in Rome. This was a blessing because I didn’t know anything about arranging all these things within Rome and heard that many of the tourist type businesses are not reputable. When we found out that our stay may be extended, Donna was willing to help in any way she could. She stayed late to allow me to research and arrange transportation back to London. When I had trouble arranging the transportation from Rome via train Donna and her co-worker Patriana helped with arranging the transportation via a local travel agency that didn’t speak fluent English. During our stay there were times when no transportation home could be arranged and Donna helped us by arranging outstanding excursions to pass the time, which eased the tension my family was feeling while we were stranded in Rome. It is people like Donna at the USO Rome that prove everyday that the USOs around the world are worth their weight in gold to US service members."  - MSgt Nathaniel (Nate) Tall, USAF (May 7, 2010)

“Just a note to let you know my friend, myself, and my two boys had a fabulous time while in Rome and we owe the three of you (Donna, Pat and Kate) a great deal of thanks and appreciation. From the very first phone call, until we left to come home ya'll were so gracious and caring. We really felt as though we mattered. It is sometimes scary to be in a foreign country, but you made us quite comfortable. The trips we took were terrific and the items we purchased at your office were well received by friends and family here at home. I have recommended you to everyone in my email box here in Germany. I see the USO commercials all the time on TV here and now have firsthand experience on just how much you go above and beyond to help us. I'm even more proud to be a part of the military. You definitely made our trip more pleasant and more memorable by being so giving of your time and efforts. From the bottom of my heart I thank you and I appreciate you for what you do every day for all of us near and far. God Bless you and yours.”  - Holly Cope

“Ursula and I would like to thank the Rome USO for the support you showed to us during our stay in Rome, 29April-3 May 2009. The transportation, tours and the lodging were excellent and helped highlight our visit. I think the best part of the visit to the USO was the warm and personal greetings, from Pat, Donna and Denise during our visits to the USO. Again our thanks!”  - John and Ursula McPherson.

“It is with pleasure that we commend the efforts of both “Pat” and “Donna” in your office! My husband and I recently visited Rome and both Pat and Donna assisted us with our hotel reservations and tour plans. Wow! They were exceptionally helpful in answering our many questions... At our request Pat and Donna were even able to schedule 4 tours for us in a 2-day period! We applaud their efforts, their knowledge, and their wonderful attitude. Both Pat and Donna are phenomenal examples of the USO’s proud tradition of TRULY SERVING those who serve. We thank the USO Roma staff for making our stay in Italy a very pleasant one.”  - CH (MAJ) Gregory & Kathleen “KD” Tyree
