The USO Rome Center is located in the heart of the capital city of Italy.  Conveniently located near the Vatican, our center's goal is to make Rome one of the most memorable and positive experiences of our patrons’ military service while offering a ‘Home while in Rome’.

Following the Allies liberation of Rome in 1943, the first overseas "USO canteen" was established right here in the Eternal City. The canteen served American troops in Rome in the midst of World War II. Over sixty year later, the USO’s commitment to be America’s link with her men and women in uniform has withstood the test of time and that is nowhere more true that in Rome. With the continued dedication of the USO legion of volunteers and charitable support from individuals and corporations, the USO and its Rome Center will provide its "touch of home" for as long as we have those in service to their country.

PAPAL AUDIENCE TICKETS

The audience of the Holy Father is held in St. Peter's Square or in the Vatican Auditorium (depending on the weather) every Wednesday morning when the Pope is in town.  The Papal Audience comprises of a large international crowd.  The Pope usually speaks in seven different languages and lasts about an hour and a half.   All are welcome to participate in this event! A wonderful "must" experience while visiting in Rome.  These Papal Audience tickets are free and available through the USO Rome Center. Contact us to reserve your spot!

CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY IN ROME

Even the Italians celebrate St. Patrick's Day as the city is filled with green and lots of fun.  Come join us in Rome this year where everyone is Irish on March 17th.  Abbey Theatre (Via del Governo Vecchio, 51) - Located near Piazza Navonna featuring live Irish music & Guiness. Scholars Lounge (Via del Plebiscito, 99) - Green beer & free gifts at this favorite watering hole of Americans in Rome. Trinity College (Via del Collegio Romano, 6) - A traditional Irish pub during the day but featuring a live DJ set at night until 3AM.
